TED2005: Water VizSonification
This VizStonification, a blend of a visualization and sonification, is a collaboration between the musician, Thomas Dolby, and myself for the TED 2006 Conference. Part of a series of Fire, Earth, Air and Water, this particular sonification is a Maya animation illustrating how the position of the water drops on a grid correspond to the sound of the music. In the second half of the visualization, we sonify the seasons of California, converting weather data into music. As we accelerate time, the state seems to 'breathe' as we listen and watch the rhythm of the seasons.
